Vibe coding for CROs: the pipeline tool, the quote builder and the deal desk, built by the person who carries the number.

Revenue leaders have always bent tools to their will: the CRM with four hundred custom fields, the pricing spreadsheet everyone copies, the forecast that lives in a deck. Vibe coding lets a CRO build the tool the sales team actually needs, without waiting for RevOps to have a quarter free.

ROUND 01The CRO seat

Why a CRO’s build is different.

Revenue tools carry two things that need care: customer data and pricing. A quote builder with a rounding error costs margin on every deal. A pipeline dashboard connected to the CRM with a full-access key is one leak away from a competitor holding your customer list. And a tool the whole team quotes from is production software on day one.

This page is about vibe coding from the revenue seat: what CROs build, what breaks when the sales team runs on it, and how to ship it without giving away the pipeline.

ROUND 02What you build

What CROs build first.

  • 01The quote and pricing tool

Configure, price and quote in one screen, with the discount rules built in and the approvals wired up, instead of the spreadsheet every rep has a slightly different copy of.

  • 02The forecast and pipeline dashboard

Coverage, velocity, slippage and rep performance pulled straight from the CRM, on one page the leadership team can open without a Monday morning export.

  • 03The deal desk workflow

Non-standard terms, discount approvals, legal reviews. The requests that live in Slack threads, tracked with an owner and a clock.

  • 04The prospecting and enrichment tool

Lists built from a dozen sources, enriched, scored and pushed into the CRM. Fast to build, and full of personal data that has rules attached.

ROUND 03What breaks

Where it goes wrong for a CRO.

  • The pricing is wrong on every quote

A percentage applied to the wrong base, a currency rounded twice, a discount that stacks when it should not. Nobody notices because the number looks reasonable, and it has been going out to customers for a month.

  • The CRM key is in the app

The dashboard needed CRM access. The AI put the key where anyone who can see the code can find it. That key can read, and often delete, every account and contact you have.

  • Personal data with no rules

The prospecting tool scraped and stored contact details for thousands of people. There is no consent record, no retention policy and no way to delete someone who asks. In several jurisdictions that is a fine, not a bug.

  • The team runs on it and it breaks on quarter end

Everyone quotes from the tool. On the last day of the quarter it goes down, or a change you made that morning breaks the discount logic, and nobody can send a quote.

ROUND 04With a CTO in your corner

What changes.

A CTO in your corner checks the two things that matter in a revenue tool before the team touches it: that the money math is right, and that the customer data is locked down. Keys out of the code. Access limited to what each rep needs. A backup and a way back before quarter end. You still build the tool your team asked for. You just never lose a deal to it.
